Avoma review
Avoma is an AI meeting assistant that records, transcribes and summarizes meetings, with paid add-ons for conversation intelligence (call scoring), revenue intelligence and lead routing.
Verdict
Independent discussion is thin: about nine non-promotional comments carry a real opinion, mostly short notes from sales and RevOps users. Those users treat Avoma as a cheaper Gong or Chorus substitute that covers the basics well: recordings, searchable transcripts, template-based notes and call scorecards. The main complaints are the overall product and support quality, voiced by one team that still keeps it for transcription and scoring, and a preference for Granola among another team. Seven of 23 comments were promotional, mostly plugs for other notetakers, Reddit-monitoring tools or Avoma itself with a feature list and link.

What users like
- Users pick it as a cheaper alternative to Gong and Chorus that still covers the basics; one rep who has used all three calls it their go-to low-cost option[1][2][3][4]
- Recordings, searchable transcripts and actionable summaries are rated well; one RevOps user calls it the best meeting transcription tool they have used[1][2][3][4]
- Call scorecards help managers check that reps follow the playbook, and one team says the scoring is accurate[1][2]
- Notes can be generated from your own templates, which one sales user prefers over Gemini's built-in Google Meet notes[1]

In their own words
Check out Avoma if you want a low cost option and just need basics covered. That would be my go to and I’ve used all 3. Using gong currently, was previously using chorus. Gong AI and deal management is cool, but not really a game changer for me. I feel like if you need to lean heavily on this you’re probably not great at your job.
We've started using a similar program called Avoma. Probably cheaper than Gong. Not sure about custom playbooks but there are scorecards available which has helped us track that reps are doing what they should
Try Avoma. It's price friendly and does pretty well with the recordings, transcription and has all that AI stuff for a reasonable price too.
I can only answer 2 and 3: 2. Hubspot is spectacular as a CRM and a marketing tool. It's expensive, but for small/mid sized agencies (ie heading into or just through the second valley of death) there is nothing better. 3. Fathom is free for the individual. If you have a decent sized sales team Gong is next level. If it's a small team I use and recommend Avoma. Hope that helps!
2nd, I’m a fan of Avoma. It does what I need it to do, be able to watch meetings, have a searchable transcript, and have actionable summaries.
Avoma is dope, best meeting notes transcription tool I’ve used yet.
