Smartlead is a cold email platform for sending sequences from unlimited connected mailboxes, with warmup, a unified inbox, client workspaces and an API.

Verdict: Independent discussion is thin: only 15 non-promotional comments carry a real opinion. Those users describe it as an affordable workhorse for high-volume sending and multi-inbox or client work, with a usable API, but report slow or absent support, occasional bugs and mailbox disconnects, and a basic inbox placement test. More than half the comments (43 of 80) were promotional, mostly competitors and add-on vendors seeding their own products, and one commenter alleged Smartlead itself pays bots to post.

In their own words

LemList is the best by far, but a little expensive. I use Smartlead right now as it’s pretty cheap.
I'm pretty happy with smartlead tbh. Pricing seems pretty fair to me. I recently changed the package after I recommended it to a friend and he asked me about the packages and I realized the one I use isn't public anymore and the new ones seemed much better so I changed to the current option which has no limitation on saved leads in your system which was always a huge headache. Running 5k+ emails per day, nothing to …

they are legit. I use smartlead but they are good if you do very high volume outbound
It's been good for scaling outreach. It automates a lot, like campaign creation and lead management. That said, it can be a bit buggy sometimes. What’s nice, though, is the Smartlead Slack community, it’s solid for getting quick advice or tips from other users. Support can take a little time, but when they do respond, they really dive into the issue and help resolve it. They also offer a good amount of re…
I'd probably not make warmup the deciding factor tbh. I've used Smartlead and Instantly and both can look perfectly healthy on the dashboard while real sending tells a different story. Usually I prefer Smartlead for the workspace/client side of things, especially when you're managing multiple inboxes. Instantly feels a bit simpler if you're just running your own stuff. All you can do is start with a few inboxes and a…
I’m only familiar with Smartlead and lemlist. Both have this quirks. What I’m trying to do is do everything via API and MCP since that allows for hooking to agents. I’m early on but so far, it feels like the best way to go and Smartlead’s has a pretty solid API for such things. I’m going to take a look at at instantly to see how it does with agents. I do want something that works and has great delivery. I don’t …
