#2NeverBounce

neverbounce.com
17/100

NeverBounce, owned by ZoomInfo, is an email verification service that cleans uploaded lists and verifies addresses in real time through an API and integrations such as HubSpot, Mailchimp and Zapier.

Verdict: The few independent users who report first-hand find NeverBounce accurate enough for basic list cleaning and easy to work with, but its weak spot is lists where bounces persist after cleaning: Apollo-sourced B2B data, catch-all domains and Yahoo addresses. More than half of the 48 Reddit mentions are promotional, led by a cluster of near-identical comments steering readers from NeverBounce to one cheaper verifier, so independent discussion is thin, about ten opinions, most of them brief.

What users like

  • Users who have run lists through it describe the results as accurate for basic validity checks[1][2][3]
  • Returns your file in the layout you uploaded with a status column added, which makes it easy to route verified and unverified contacts into different campaigns[1]

What users complain about

  • Cleaned lists still bounce: on Apollo lists users saw a large share (one says 30 to 50 percent) flagged invalid while the remainder still bounced, and another user stayed around 3 percent bounces[1][2][3]
  • Catch-all and Yahoo addresses are a weak spot: one user saw invalid Yahoo addresses marked valid and a 15 percent bounce rate[1][2]
  • An early-stage team calls the API pricing too steep to sustain[1]
  • One former user alleges that after cleaning a niche list with NeverBounce, the companies on it began appearing on NeverBounce pages that publish their email formats, and quit over it[1]

Best for

  • Straightforward bulk list cleaning with results returned in your original file layout

Skip it if

  • Apollo-sourced or other B2B lists where bounces persist after verification
  • Lists heavy in catch-all or Yahoo addresses

In their own words

I've tried a few tools as well and found that tools like NeverBounce and ZeroBounce tend to give pretty accurate results. As for deliverability, make sure your email content is clean, avoid spammy language, and always use double opt-ins for better engagement.
Email verification is critical but most people don't realize it's only half the battle. You can have perfectly verified emails and still land in spam if your sender reputation is shit or your authentication is misconfigured. Our clients use all three of those tools and honestly the accuracy differences are pretty marginal when it comes to basic syntax and bounce detection. Where they differ is catch-all handling and…
Are there any reliable open source email verification tools or self hosted scripts that can handle SMTP level handshakes and catch all detection? ZeroBounce and NeverBounce are great but their minimum monthly commits and steep API pricing are getting way too heavy for an early stage project
I’ve only used neverbounce and mailgun. I hate mailgun. Neverbounce gives me everything I need and I couldn’t be happier. I love how it gives me back the data the same way I input it, except with the email status as another field (verified, unverified, etc) My go to is to simply grab the unverifieds and plug them into a LinkedIn only drip and the verifieds go into my standard campaign.
Yeah, I’ve had the same issue with NeverBounce on Apollo lists. It often flags 30–50% as invalid, and even then, I still get bounces. Feels like over-filtering without actually solving the problem.Tried EmailListVerify and ZeroBounce too decent, but pricey and not perfect either. Recently tested VitaMail; it is much cheaper, like under $0.001/emailand pretty fast for bulk checks. Still evaluating accuracy, but worth…
I've had similar issues with NeverBounce when verifying email addresses from Apollo. It was frustrating to see a large portion of the list get filtered out, yet still experience bounces with the remaining emails. I started to question how effective the verification process was. I decided to try a few other services to see if they performed any better. I tested ZeroBounce and noticed a slight improvement in accuracy,…
