LinkedIn Sales Navigator is LinkedIn's paid prospecting product: 50+ search filters across LinkedIn members and companies, saved lead and account lists, job-change and account alerts, 50 InMail credits a month, and CRM sync on its top tier.

Verdict: Of 58 comments, 19 independent ones carry an opinion (12 positive, 6 mixed, 1 negative). Users treat it as the best way to search LinkedIn's own data, valuing its filters and job-change signals for targeted, lower-volume prospecting, but say lists are hard to get out of the product, the UX is clunky, and it does no outreach automation on its own; whether it is expensive is contested. 26 of the 58 comments (45%) were promotional, mostly scraper, enrichment and LinkedIn automation vendors pitching themselves, including three accounts repeating the same 'scrape Sales Nav, then waterfall-enrich with Airscale' workflow and paired plugs for ProspectZero, Depost AI and Scrupp.

What users like

  • Filters such as company size, excluded titles and recently active on LinkedIn make it easy to target very specific profiles[1][2][3][4][5]
  • Job-change and hiring signals help time outreach; one team says filtering exports to job changes in the last 30 days lifted reply rate from about 1.5% to 6% on the same copy[1][2][3]
  • Gives direct access to LinkedIn's own data, which users rate above third-party databases[1]
  • The 50 monthly InMails let you message prospects without waiting for a connection request to be accepted[1][2]

What users complain about

  • Clunky UX, and lists are hard to export; they stay inside Sales Navigator unless you add another tool to pull the data out[1][2][3]
  • Industry filters are broad, so it works best when you already know who you want and is harder to use from a job title alone[1]
  • One user found InMail reply rates consistently worse than regular LinkedIn messages and concluded it wasn't worth it[1]
  • Suits lower-volume enterprise targeting more than mass list building, and gets expensive once a startup scales seats[1][2]
  • Messages are split across two separate inboxes[1]

Best for

  • Targeted, lower-volume prospecting into specific roles and accounts
  • Timing outreach on job changes and new hires
  • Teams that pair it with a separate contact-data or outreach tool

Skip it if

  • High-volume list building and bulk exports
  • Buyers expecting built-in outreach automation

In their own words

Big difference between classic LinkedIn and Sales Nav is the extra filters you get. You cannot really find leads if you can't target a specific company size or exclude specific job titles from your search LinkedIn (and Sales nav) return so many false positives than having those added filters is the only way to find people who might be interested in what you want to sell and as others said, you got the inmails a…

I’m using Sales navigator right now and I am actually really liking it. The filter features are great. It’s relatively affordable and it comes with 50 InMails per month. The only thing I dislike is the fact that there are two separate inboxes and your messages are in two different areas. That’s a bit annoying.

It wasn’t worth it for me. Like others have said, it’s nice for targeting very specific profiles (I really liked that you can narrow your list only to those who have been recently active on LinkedIn - dead profiles are a huge issue there). But once you have your list it’s not easy to download it. It just lives in sales nav and you have to message people through the platform. Inmail messages have always had a much wor…

I tried Sales Navigator and found it good for searching and filtering people. It will help you find your targets.

What you’re asking for is basically what the big directories (Apollo, e.g.) already offer. The tradeoff is that you get less reliable, less current information, but you get scale. I think Sales Nav is best used for enterprise level sales. And if you’re doing lead gen at enterprise level, you’re better off at lower volume campaigns with way higher personalization. That’s where it actually becomes really handy to have…

The list manually from google maps thing killed me because I did the exact same thing in 2023. Pulled maybe 400 contacts over a weekend for a fintech client and got 3 replies, two of which were "remove me." What actually moved the needle for us was filtering by trigger events instead of just title + industry. We started exporting from Sales Nav based on job changes in the last 30 days, ran it through Hunter for veri…
